NPO法人 ミレニアムシティー 世界に広がるミレニアムシティの輪 NPO Millennium city -global millennium city network-

2003年のくりもとミレニアムシティから始まり、2010年にはあさひミレニアムシティがオープン。そんなミレニアムシティがいよいよ世界に飛び出します。その第一弾がスリランカミレニアムシティです。今回はスリランカからの視察団を招き入れた説明会の１部を抜粋しました。

日本は農薬と化学肥料を50年前に取り入れてしまって、今はそれがないと作物ができないと思い込んでいるんです。でも実際にはできます。それを今、実証しているんです。今の日本は健康機能障害が国民の中に広まっています。例えば、３人に１人、あるいは２人に１人が癌で亡くなっています。それで年間100万人近くの人間が死んでいます。

日本では年間、30万トンの農薬を使っているといわれています。それはとても危険な状態です。
それを日本の国民はようやく気付いてきた状態で、これからどうしようかということでやっているんですが、なかなか良い案が思いつかない。それで、健康的だということで私たちのエコビレッジの取り組みがものすごく注目を集めています。 ….. (以下、本誌へ続く)

Starting with the Kurimoto Millennium City in 2003, Asahi millennium City garden also opened in 2010. The organisation is now expanding worldwide. The first project abroad is in Sri Lanka named the Sri Lanka Millennium City. In this article, we have extracted a section from that guidance meeting of the new project.

Japan has incorporated pesticides and chemical fertilisers 50 year ago and has became dependant on them. But there are other alternatives. And we are currently working on it. Japan curries many people with health dysfunctions and it’s spreading day by day. For example, 1 in 3 people are dying from cancer. And each year, almost 1 million people are dying from cancer every year.

Every year in Japan, it is said that they use about 300,000 tons of pesticides.
Japan is beginning to realise that using 300,000 tons of pesticides every year is not really good for your health and they are trying but struggling to find the solution to fix the issue. But our eco village is beginning to gain attention as a healthy alternative for produces covered in pesticide.
